How to: Organise your little one's wardrobe like a pro

How to: Organise your little one's wardrobe like a pro

If you've ever stood in front of your little one's wardrobe trying to find the right-sized outfit while a half-dressed toddler makes a break for it, this one's for you. A few simple changes can turn wardrobe chaos into something that actually works, and our personalised clothing wardrobe dividers make it easy (and pretty).

Why Wardrobe Dividers Make Life Easier

Kids' clothes are tiny, they all look the same folded up, and sizes change constantly. Without some kind of system, you end up with a wardrobe full of mystery clothing that may or may not still fit.

Our personalised clothing wardrobe dividers sit on the wardrobe rod between sections, so you can see at a glance exactly where each size starts and ends. No more guessing, no more pulling out three outfits before finding one that fits.

They save time. Mornings are hectic enough. Knowing exactly where the right size is means one less thing to stress about.

They look beautiful. Made from eco-friendly bamboo and laser-cut in our Southland studio, they add a lovely, personal touch to any nursery or kids' wardrobe.

They grow with you. Our divider sets cover multiple size ranges, and if our standard sets don't quite work for you, we'll custom-make them to suit.

How to Set Up Your Wardrobe Dividers

It takes about 20 minutes to go from "where is everything" to "this is beautiful." Here's how to do it.

1. Pull everything out and sort by size

Yes, all of it. Group clothes into size categories: newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, and so on. Use whatever size labels make sense for your family. This is also a great time to pull out anything that's been outgrown. Pack it away for the next baby, pass it on to a friend, or donate it.

2. Place your dividers on the rod

Hang your dividers on the wardrobe rod between each size section. Make sure they sit slightly above the clothes so they're easy to spot. Each divider is labelled with the size, so you can find what you need without flicking through every hanger.

3. Arrange clothes within each section

Within each size group, organise however works best for you. Some parents like to group by type (all the tops together, then bottoms, then dresses). Others prefer to arrange by colour so it's easy to put together outfits at a glance. There's no wrong way, whatever makes your mornings smoother is the right way.

4. Keep it up as sizes change

The beauty of dividers is that when your little one moves up a size, you simply shift the divider along and rotate the outgrown clothes out. It takes two minutes and keeps everything tidy without a big wardrobe overhaul.

A Few Extra Tips from the Team

Buy one size ahead. If you've been gifted clothes in the next size up, hang them in the wardrobe behind the current size divider. That way they're ready to go when the time comes.

Use them for seasonal sorting too. In New Zealand we go from singlets to puffer jackets in the space of a week. You could add a divider for "summer" and "winter" within each size group if that helps.

They make a gorgeous baby shower gift. Pair a set of wardrobe dividers with a birth announcement plaque or a personalised wall name for a gift that's practical, personal, and beautifully presented.
